Annual financial news and ad hoc releases
In our archive you will find financial news since 2005
Frankfurt, 12 May 2005 - The first quarter of the new financial year 2005 developed better than in the previous year. The revenues of 87.5 million Euro were up two percent on the previous year’s figure. The operating result improved from minus 2.8 million Euro to minus 1.1 million Euro, the con-solidated net loss reduced from minus 4.4 million Euro to minus 3 million Euro.
In the first quarter of 2005, MediClin posted 87.5 million Euro in revenues (Q1 2004: 85.8 million Euro). Business development in the different segments was varied. While acute care revenues saw a marginal decline, post acute revenues stabilized. The proportion of subsequent nursing treatment (AHB) rose slightly to 65.6 per cent of nursing days in the post acute segment. Revenues in the new nursing care segment developed positive. Meanwhile, all facilities in this segment are fully operative. The operating result was increased by 1.7 million Euro, compared to the same quarter in the previous year. This was mainly attributable to reduction in rental expense to the amount of 1.3 million, so on balance, the operating result improved by approximately 0.4 million Euro compared to the first quarter of 2004.
Thus far, business development is in accordance with MediClin’s expectations concerning corporate development for this year. The Board of Management assumes, that the company will continue to benefit from previously implemented and newly introduced measures and, assuming that the general economic and business situation in Germany do not deteriorate, a balanced result in 2005 can be expected.
The report for the first quarter of 2005 was prepared in accordance with the provisions of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for the first time.
