Offenburg, February 15, 2013 – In the financial year 2012 MediClin AG (DE0006595101) achieved preliminary Group sales of about EUR 510 million which are about EUR 16 million above the previous year’s value. The preliminary Group operating result presumably will be in the range of EUR 4 million after EUR 10.9 million last year.
In 2012 the largest contribution to sales made the post-acute segment, but occupancy rates in this segment decreased significantly stronger in the second half of December than expected on the basis of the holiday season constellation. This led to the result that the good segment results of the previous months could not be maintained. In the acute segment the development during the year continued so that a segment result will have to be disclosed clearly below last year’s figure.
The Group operating result will be burdened by special items and one-time effects towards the end of the year in the range of about EUR 2.8 million, which are the result of valuation changes as well as consolidation issues but also from investments due to reorientation of medical disciplines.
The disclosure of the preliminary figures of the financial year 2012 will be at March 1, 2013; the annual report 2012 will be presented to the public at March 22, 2013.
