Referral for a stay at the Hospital for Internal Medicine and Cardiology
The referral for a stay at the Hospital for Internal Medicine and Cardiology is made by your physician, usually by phone. Because of the investigations to be carried out, please arrive with an empty stomach for your treatment at the MediClin Heart Center Lahr/Baden.
Apart from the usual necessities for a hospital stay (compare checklist), please bring with you also the referral for admission to the ward and the results of prior investigations handed to you by your referring physician.
You can register for in-patient treatment by sending an email to the following email address:

Should you have questions regarding inpatient treatment, please contact Hildegard Baumann who will pass on your questions to the doctor competent to deal with the matter.
Should you have any questions regarding private outpatient treatment, please contact Susanne Burger who will pass on your questions to the doctor competent to deal with the matter.

Admission to the Hospital for Heart, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery
The referring physician will effect the referral to the MediClin Heart Center Lahr/Baden by telephone, fax or letter. You will then receive all the necessary information by post. You will then merely need to complete the letter of confirmation which will be enclosed and return it to us using the stamped self-addressed envelope.
As a rule, you need to arrive on the day before the operation since preliminary investigations and the obligatory pre-operation discussion have to take place. Please notify us in good time if you have any special requests such as needing to be collected from the airport or preferring a specific date for the operation.
