Cardiology deals with the structure, function and a variety of different illnesses of the heart. Therefore, it represents every branch of internal medicine that examines and treats cardiovascular illnesses. Those in cardiology work hand in hand here with heart surgeons, who deal with the surgical therapy of illnesses and damage to the heart and those vessels found around the heart (coronary vessels).
Cardiology, heart surgery and subsequent medical provision for both disciplines – cardiological rehabilitation – are extremely closely interrelated at MediClin.
