MediClin integrates

The German health care system is increasingly developing into a competitive health care industry. How does a clinic operator such as MediClin face up to this challenge?

MediClin stands for the networking of outpatient, inpatient and post-hospital treatment to deliver high-quality medical provision along the entire treatment chain. And MediClin also achieves this outside of large metropolitan areas. Rigid divisions between outpatient provision, hospitals and rehabilitation clinics are artificially created and often obstruct – due, amongst other things, to different remuneration structures – the smooth cooperation between individual sectors. Under the motto “MediClin integrates”, the MediClin Group has promoted the concept of an integrated treatment chain for over 10 years, supplemented by a care concept delivered near to a patient’s home. Accordingly, the strategy of integrated provision developed by legislators has been brought to life and intensively implemented – both in individual facilities and also in partnership with other qualified health care providers. To ensure this is achieved, MediClin follows the goal of continuously increasing the performance capabilities of the facilities involved and, at the same time, guaranteeing the quality of the medical treatment.

Jointly delivering medical services – taking advantage of synergy effects

Jointly delivering medical services or distributing them amongst facilities is the prerequisite for increasing productivity. As a group of clinics, MediClin uses synergies and standardised practices in a targeted way to achieve success. Therefore, MediClin combines services where possible and organises them in a uniform way across the Group. Within this context, administrative tasks, as well as kitchen services, general services and cafeteria services are delivered from one source according to uniform standards. Employees from all occupational groups are trained in the MediClin Academy; the range of training offered is diverse and stretches from Bobath courses for therapists through to business management for physicians.

The aim is to guarantee the quality of medical services. Over the past few years, MediClin has already introduced a series of measures for external and internal quality assurance and for improving quality. The quality of treatment and the transparent presentation of services are of decisive importance in the selection of the right clinic.

Networking of all involved

MediClin’s strategy also comprises the coordinated networking of all those involved in the health care system. These activities involve not only commercial management but also medical management personnel. Key groups – whether resident physicians, medical coverage providers or the patients themselves – must be convinced by the performance capabilities of the relevant facilities. In this context, orientating services towards target groups and involving cooperation partners are key aspects that also breathe life into the company’s basic principle – “MediClin integrates”.
